Serotine Bats

A property on Lonesome Lane is home to Surrey's largest known poulation of Serotine Bats - Protected in the UK under the Wildlife and Countryside Act, 1981. European Protected Species under Annex IV of the European Habitats Directive. They use the proposed site at Ladyland Farm as a feeding ground

Gold Crested Newts

Great Crested Newts (often referred to as gold crested newts) are strictly protected in the UK and Europe. They are classified as a European Protected Species (EPS) and protected under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, making it illegal to capture, kill, disturb, or injure them, or damage their habitat. Ladyland Farm is already noted as highly suitable habitat but a District Licence has been obtained as part of an approved planning application for 2 dwellings allowing dispensation
